ASIS International has a long history in Hong Kong with the local Chapter formed 1985. In 1984 ASIS wanted to form a local Chapter and approached a group of Hong Kong based security professionals. The key local contact for ASIS at the time was Dan Grove who formed the Chapter, and chaired it during the first 2 years. The original membership was the minimum 12 people required to form a Chapter. 
 

In 2004 the Hong Kong Chapter has over 140 members and continues to grow every year. In addition to Hong Kong members we have a number of members in other parts of Asia who are affiliated to the local chapter.

ASIS Hong Kong Chapter has a focus on several key areas:  
 

Networking
 

Hosting dinner events with invited speakers and involvement in local industry events. Keep an eye on the meetings section for current events.

	Information on career opportunities in Hong Kong and Asia in the employment section

Education
 

The Certified Protection Professional (CPP) exam has been held here every year since 1996 and CPP courses have been held in Hong Kong for most of those same years. For local CPP course and exam details please check out the certification section.

 

Security related visits. We have conducted visits to the Hong Kong International Airport during construction and during current operations. We are always looking for activities that would interest our local members.

 

Industry Coordination 
 

We liaise with other industry associations to address Government regulation of the security industry.
